Cathedral of Flames, Hardmode
I recently just ran CoF Hardmode for a first time and I was facesmashed every other way.
I was destroyed either by wraiths who decided to wait until I was walking down the hall past the door where two massive groups zerged me (1 rushed up, the other just happened to be there) to wraiths and crawlers popping out of the ground amidst fighting enchanted weapons, to four crypt wraiths silencing practically everything in my party causing a wipe.
I only made it to the end of the second floor before I gave up.
The second time I went in I was better prepared. People died every now and again, and we progressed to the second floor up until the enchanted weapons in the poison room. This is a tactical nightmare, because not only can you run into the poison, but the enchanted weapons like to all overload on one person.
We wiped here at the second group because people liked to run around even while flagged, and the weapons would all target each member of my group one at a time. A healer would fall, then the warrior, then the last healer would fall, as they methodically wipe us out.
Does anyone have any tips for this area? It strikes me as the hardest part in the dungeon. I think if you can get past this relatively unscathed, the rest will be fine.
And any other tips for CoF? Thanks!

Reason: Edited "Buy" to "by". Not sure how I made that mistake.

get a monk to bond you and aggro
know how to bodyblock using your corners
those floating weapons hit hard but like i said, get a monk to be on you all the time and aggro.
the poison area is easy because there are some great places to get a good bodyblock
if the second floor has the burning area, i would use the very first corner on your left when you approach/are inside the burning place
im assuming you're a warrior/melee person

Weapons are very easy to counter with so many types of skills to chose from like Aegis, Displacement, "You Are All Weaklings!", Ineptitude, Shared Burden, etc.

I'll give the ones I can get a shot. I don't have factions, only nightfall, prophecies and EoTN (I play my prophecies character) but I'll try the others.
Thanks.
Edit - By the way, I was wrong about the poison area being the hardest part of the dungeon. The hardest looks to be when you descend the stairs at the third level.

The stuff shooting fire at you? Could try "Fall Back!" on a hero that has the energy for it. I often use a Healing Burst monk, but you don't have access to that elite. Descend means you're going lower.

I romp through CoF HM on several of my toons, especially Para and Rt.
Normally I have UA/HB/Panic/Migraine/Crippling Anguish/ST and perhaps an earth ele with wards or BHA Ranger.
I can't recall the last time any hero has actually died.
As long as you take the right path, and take care to never aggro two groups, it is pretty easy.
The reason I take plenty of rupts is to shut down wraiths and of course Murukai cannot do a damn thing.
Always take LoD, tons of treasures about the place

Anti-synergy much? Why spend your monk's elite and a quarter of their energy regen on a res you don't even use?

So you're saying it's worth spending your elite slot and an energy pip for +50% (or whatever) healing? You might as well just run HB in that case. Given HB isn't really worth running in the first place, it's easy to see running UA just for the healing boost is not a particularly smart thing to do.
